Welcome to the new Home Ice Advantage!
After more behind-the-scenes work than I like to admit. I am ecstatic to relaunch Home Ice Advantage for the 2023-24 Carolina Hurricanes season!
Our goal is to be your home for independent Carolina Hurricanes coverage. More than twenty-five years after the Hurricanes made their debut their fan base is growing more rapidly than ever. Since 2018, formerly disheartened fans have returned to the team they once loved. While new fans absorb the excitement generated in a formerly underdeveloped market. Raleigh, the Carolinas, and the greater hockey world are in the midst of a love affair with an organization that fought its way off life support.
HIA will strive to not only cover the day-to-day news from 1400 Edwards Mill Road. But, we will also take the time to reflect on the stories that live in the hearts and minds of lifelong Canaics. Feel free to poke around the site to read some of my old work. There are also new articles that I published this morning. In the coming weeks, it will be my pleasure to introduce new members of the team as we get ready for the start of the regular season.
If you'd like to support HIA please just share the stories, podcast episodes, and whatever randomness we produce. For three seasons word of mouth has been the easiest and fastest way for the brand to grow. I don't envision that changing any time soon.
My excitement for the season has only been amplified by the support of the Hurricanes community this offseason. Unless you're a time traveler you don't know what the future holds. But, I know that no matter what the upcoming season brings I'll never forget it.
