A pre-season hockey game is being played today! This is not a drill! It will be the first time Carolina's training camp roster will be in front of fans inside PNC Arena. Since the opening of camp last Wednesday, Caniacs have only seen glimpses of their favorite players and prospects hoping to earn a role with the big club.

Today we'll see the Tampa Bay Lightning. Wednesday will bring the Florida Panthers. Although, I think Thursday will be more exciting for some Hurricanes fans. Starting at 9 a.m. at Invisalign Arena in Morrisville Hurricanes fans can watch the team practice in the public eye for the first time. Team C1 is made up of Carolina's regular roster players who will take the ice first. Followed by Team C2 at 11 a.m. made up of prospects, players on PTOs, and contract players not seen as a lock for the opening night roster.

Tonight's game will be played mostly by members of Team C2. Expect more Canes regulars to join the lineup when the organization travels south later this week. By the time we get to the final game of the pre-season against Nashville on October 6th the lineup should be close to - if not a match for - the roster that will be used on opening night five days later.

Thursday is the first of four times you'll be able to spectate during training camp.
